Sex-based marketing still hits the spot

If anyone thought sex didn’t sell anymore, think again. Lithuania has really hit the spot (so to speak) with this great new campaign to market its capital city – see the print ad and one of the video examples below.

Let’s face it, how many of us could come up with the name of Lithuania’s capital city if the question came up on trivia night? With all the rules and wowsers around, using sex to sell is not as blatant as it once was and this ad campaign mostly leave your mind to do the dirty work. As an old friend of mine says in this story: “It may be the oldest marketing trick in the book, but it’s still an effective marketing tool because it works.”
