The Masterpiece Business Philosophy
The Masterpiece Business philosophy arose from a partnership of three Queensland-based businesses that questioned the validity of many "solutions" sold to businesses as a "quick fix". The philosophy involves getting to the truth in all aspects of business - from problem definition and solution selection through to the reason a business exists in the first place.
The perfect business
The term "Masterpiece" Business comes from the application of first principles to the reason why a business exists. The perfect business is one that creates the "masterpiece" the owner intended. Art is a very personal and subjective thing as what one person deems to be a great masterpiece may be seen by someone else as a load of rubbish. At the end of the day, the quality of a piece of art depends on what the artist was trying to do. A business doesn't have to achieve billion-dollar sales. It doesn't have to revolutionise an industry or change the world. If the owner of a business simply wants to have a job without a boss then that's all the business has to provide in order to be perfect. The Masterpiece Business philosophy recognises the fact that any goals set for a business must begin with the business owner. Any other goals must build toward the achievement of the business owner's goals.
Applying the Masterpiece approach
The Masterpiece Business philosophy has been applied in all areas of business to ensure consultants achieve the best outcomes for their clients. Flat Cat has developed Masterpiece techniques in the marketing field that begin with setting the right goals. At every step of the marketing strategy, Flat Cat's techniques focus on getting to the truth and asking the right people the right question. For evidence of how effective this approach can be, Flat Cat is conducting an on-going experiment, which, at last count, beats odds of more than 10,000,000,000 to 1. Flat Cat director Dave Westman is only too happy to discuss the latest results with new clients to show why Flat Cat rules 5 and 8 are so important.
